Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Dew ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information we collect

1. Information you provide directly

When you use the App, we may collect:

  • Account information from Sign in with Apple: your Apple user ID
  • Feedback submitted through the feedback form
  • Premium subscription data: information about your trial and subscription status

We do not require your name or email address to create a Dew account.

2. Information automatically collected

  • Device information: platform (iOS), operating system version, and app version
  • Usage analytics: how you interact with the app, collected through our Supabase-backed analytics system
  • Purchase information: subscription and payment data processed through RevenueCat and Apple's payment systems

3. Information stored locally on your device

The following data may be stored locally on your device:

  • Alarm settings and schedules
  • Selected wallpapers and sounds
  • AI-generated affirmation library (Pro users)

Account data flow

  • If you sign in with Apple, we collect and store your Apple user ID to recognize your account.
  • When you are signed in, affirmations you save in Dew are stored server-side in our Supabase database in the affirmations table.
  • Users can request deletion of account data and stored affirmations in the app's Settings screen or by emailing founder@dewalarm.com.

How we use your information

  • Service delivery: to provide you with your alarm and affirmation experience
  • App improvement: to analyze usage patterns and improve the app
  • Customer support: to respond to your feedback and support requests
  • Subscription management: to process and manage your Pro subscription

Third-party services

RevenueCat

Supabase

  • Purpose: backend database for account records, stored affirmations, analytics events, and feedback
  • Data shared: Apple user ID, affirmations stored while signed in, usage analytics events, which may be associated with your account when you are signed in, and feedback submissions
  • Privacy policy: https://supabase.com/privacy

Apple App Store

  • Purpose: payment processing for subscriptions
  • Data shared: payment information, purchase history (handled directly by Apple)

OpenAI (Pro feature only)

  • Purpose: generating personalized affirmations for Pro users via our Supabase functions
  • Data shared: the three short answers you provide during AI affirmation setup, sent through our Supabase functions to OpenAI
  • Privacy policy: https://openai.com/privacy

Data retention

  • Account data and affirmations stored in Supabase: retained in our backend until you delete them in the app, request deletion by email, or they are otherwise removed under our standard Supabase-backed retention practices.
  • Analytics data: retained according to Supabase's policies (typically up to 2 years).
  • Local data: remains on your device until you uninstall the app.

Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure storage practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Your privacy rights

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data

California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how it's used
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

Children's privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Push notifications

The app uses local push notifications for alarms and optional daily affirmation reminders. These are scheduled locally on your device and can be disabled at any time.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
